  • WE PLANT ACCORDING TO THE ADVICE FROM AN ELDERLY NEIGHBOR, WHO SAYS TO PLANT PURPLEHULLS WHEN YOU HEAR THE FIRST WHIPPERWILL - ABOUT MID-APRIL FOR US. ALSO, MY GRANDFATHER
  • FREEZES THEM THIS WAY: After shelling, put UNWASHED peas in an old pillowcase, tie end to avoid any freezer burn, & set in freezer. Take out as much as needed, when needed. Wash, cook, etc. HE'S DONE THIS FOR ABOUT 60 YEARS W/O ANY PROBLEMS. WE HAVEN'T NOTICED A DIFFERENCE IN TASTE SINCE WE STARTED DOING IT THIS WAY ABOUT 4 YRS. AGO.

  • anything that reseeds without being invasive for a ditch too steep to mow, needs to be drought-resistent because it's too far from the water hose.
